The Russians nipped this one in the bud and recently unveiled the first ever commercial hover-bike, most likely sparking the future of hover vehicles! While it mimics an everyday dirt bike in size and shape, the Scorpion-3 is electric powered and features quadcopter drone technology.

The brains behind this techy invention lie in a mere startup of a company called Hoversurf.

“The electric craft incorporates built-in software that allows for both manual and automated control for riders who need some extra assistance. The bike can carry up to 120 kgs (wow!) and can reach speeds of up to 50 kilometers per hour. “

While the hoverbike has the extreme sports fans in a craze, Hoversurf hopes that in the future the device could become an everyday form of transport.

Interesting fact: Scorpion-3 was launched as a “crowdfunding” project, but has evolved into a platform developed to inspire athletes, engineers, scientists and inventors around the world.
